Etched Stone Tiles and Murals
 The piece pictured is a custom backsplash of two quarter horses etched into a Ghibli granite slab and accented with an enamel paint to create a shadow effect. The client, a veterinarian in Fresno County, provided portraits of his own horses for the original design concept. Several of my clients want to utilize a granite countertop remnant for a kitchen focal-point piece. Provided that the client lives within driving distance and the piece is small enough to be carried by two pwople (200lbs or less), I am able to etch the design into the slab material prior to installation. I have also had sink cut-out remnants fabricated as smaller "medallions" and installed within a tiled backsplash, tying the material of the counters together with the backsplash tiles.
