About the Artist

I graduated from SJSU with a degree in Design with an emphasis in Ceramic Studio Practices. I lived overseas in Germany for a couple years, explored most of central Europe and then returned to study at CSU Fresno in the MA program for Sculpture.

I spent most of my twenties as a professional sculptor selling my bronze wildlife sculptures nationwide through The Nature Company, Natural Wonders and Nature Crafts. I worked several years with Joe Vaca of Honor Excellence out of San Francisco, CA as Head Fabricator of his own work and collaborated on several other sculpture commissions with him.

For the last 15 years I have been working in the construction and interior design industry... selling and designing with tile & stone (my specialty), cabinetry, doors, hardwood flooring & millwork, working as a granite fabricator & installer, stone and tile restoration work and as a project manager of tile installation crews. I am currently studying to take my C54 Flooring Contractor's Lisc. With the liscense I can not only design and sculpt your custom ceramic tiles/mural but install it too. 

Recently I finished working as the Head Production Artist, Manager of Merchandising and Dealer Customer Support for Fireclay Tile in San Jose, CA. It's an awesome handmade tile manufacturing company that has developed the only "green" 62% recycled content ceramic tile for residential and commercial use.

Currently I am back to doing my own thing and enjoying my time and freedom to create through Tile Goddess, my own company. I am also a supporter and volunteer at the Higher Fire Clay Studio in downtown San Jose. I help manage the on-site gallery (and show my work there), assist the class instructors as-needed and help maintain the facilities.
